FSIoffice began as a prayer in 1951. After accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, founder, Jimmy Godwin asked God for two distinct things: a Christian wife and a good job. In October, 1960 Jimmy married Diane Griffin, who shared his faith and ambitions then and continues to do so after over 48 years of marriage. After working in the office supply industry for five years, Jimmy ventured out on his own in 1962 and founded Forms & Supply, Inc. During the past 50 years that FSI has served the Southeast, it has grown from a single man operation to one of the largest independent office supply dealers in the United States with more than 300 employees.
Jimmy and Diane are the parents of three children, who each took interest in the family business, and today play active roles in the company. Kim works with Sales and Customer Service. Donna works with Advertising and Furniture. Jay works with Operations, as well as with Kim and Donna. Like their father, Kim, Donna, and Jay, realize that God has not only blessed their father with a job, but has also blessed them as well as over 300 employees with jobs. As Jimmy slowly transitions out of the business and the second generation transitions in, we realize the need to continue to seek God’s guidance for wisdom, patience and humility in each aspect of the business. At FSI, we are dedicated to our employees, whose hard work is necessary to satisfy our objective of meeting our customers’ needs.
